2021- YEAR OF WIDE-OPEN DOOR
“ There is a wide-open door for
a great work here, although many oppose me” – 1 Cor 16:9
When he speaks of the money thus collected, he speaks of the opening of the door to him in the city of Ephesus. 1 Cor 16:9 says, There is a wide-open door for a great work here, although many oppose me. Amen!! Before getting down to this topic I would like to share few information about Ephesus which will bring you very close to our topic.
Ephesus :
Ephesus was an ancient port city whose well-preserved ruins are in modern day Turkey. The city was once considered the most important Greek city and the most important trading center in the Mediterranean region. Artemis was worshiped as a deity in Ephesus. It was the goddess of the hunt, chastity, childbirth, wild animals and the wilderness.
Ephesus played a vital role in the spread of Christianity. Starting in the first century A.D., notable Christian such as Saint Paul and Saint John visited and rebuked the cults of Artemis, winning many Christian converts in the process. Mary, the mother of Jesus is thought to have spent her last year in Ephesus with Saint John. Her house and John’s tomb can be visited there today.
Wide-open door in
Ephesus:
Paul’s first visit to the city of Ephesus can see in Acts 18:19 and his second visit was recorded in Acts chapter 19. On his second visit he began to preach the gospel. There he found some disciples of John the Baptized and preached the gospel to them. In his first attempt he won 12 souls. They were baptized, received the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues. Hallelujah!!! Acts 19: 4 to 6 says,
4. Paul said, John’s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus.
5. As soon as they heard this they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6. Then when Paul laid his hand
on them, th
e Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and
prophesied.
(i) Spiritual eyes
will be opened:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in 2021 God is going to open to you the same door he opened for Paul. He preached the truth to the disciples of John the Baptized. God used Paul, to open their spiritual eyes. God is going to use you to open the spiritual eyes of many people’s in coming days. The spiritual blindness of many will be removed and they will begin to see the truth. Amen!!
(ii) The continents will hear the word of God through you:
Acts 19:10 says, This went on for the next two years, so that people throughout the province of Asia- both Jews and Greeks heard the word of the Lord. Paul was a major factor in the spread of Christianity throughout Asia. Amen!! Hallelujah!! Continents, Nations will hear the word of God through you. In 2021 you will establish your branches in many countries. Verse 10 says Jews and Greeks heard the word of the Lord Hallelujah!!! God is going to open the door for you to proclaim the gospel among the Jews too. Maybe so far no one was paying attention to your word. But the days are coming and the nations are going to wait to hear the word of God through you.
(iii) Unusual Miracles:
Acts 19:11 says, God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. Paul went to Ephesus on his 3rd missionary journey and until then no extra ordinary miracles had taken place. But extra ordinary miracles happened during his 3rd missionary journey to Ephesus. Amen!!! Like Paul you may have been in the ministry for many years without seeing any extraordinary miracles. But now your time has come, the ministry you are doing will be extraordinary in 2021. Unusual miracles will take place. Ephesians saw extraordinary miracles for the first time. Their God had never done such miracles before them, so this was a surprise to them. Paul proved the power of living God in their midst. Amen !! God will use you like Paul in the days to come. People will see extraordinary miracles through you . verse 12 says, When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases and evil spirits were expelled.
The divine power and the anointing within Paul spread over the sick. His anointing increased and spread throughout the nations. It healed the sick and cast out demons. It freed those who were in bound. Amen!! So Dear Brothers and Sisters, the anointing that God has on you will set many people free from their bondage. That anointing will spread in the nations, heal the sick and cast out demons. Amen!!
(iv) Enemies will be chased:
In 1 Cor 16:9 Paul said, There is a wide-open door for a great work here, although many oppose me.Paul had many enemies in Ephesus. Many rose up against his ministry. Enemies tried to steal his vision Acts 19:13,14 says,
13. A group of Jews was travelling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to the name of the LORD Jesus in their incantation, saying I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches to come out
14. Seven son’s of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this.
Sceva’s seven sons like Paul tried to cast out demons but they failed. They tried to steal Paul's vision. Verse 16 says, Then the man with evil spirit leaped on them overpowered them and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered. Amen !!!
They were ashamed, defeated and expelled. To this day may many have stolen the vision that God gave you. They may rise up against the ministry, but they will be driven away and God tells you that shame will cover their faces in the days to come. In front of them God will honor Your vision and your anointing. Amen!!
(v) Confessing sinful practice:
Verse 18 says, many who became believers confessed their sinful practices. Amen!! After hearing the incident many became believers and confessed their sinful practices. Not only that people those who practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at public bonfire(v 19)
Dear Brothers/Sisters a great revival will take place through you in the days to come.
What kind of awakening is that? It is the awakening of people to confess their sins and shout that Jesus is the true God. People will confess that Jesus is the savior, Jesus is the messiah. Nations will proclaim his praise as like Ephesians. Hallelujah!!
(vi) Spread Widely:
Verse 20 says, So the message about the LORD spread widely and had a powerful effect. The gospel, word of God is going to be spread widely through you in the coming year just like in Ephesus. Amen
Dear Brothers & Sisters, Believe in his word, lean on his word and confess it you will receive miracles. This year you will be God’s witness. I prayed that your territories will be expanded in Jesus Name. May your spiritual eyes be opened and see the mighty power of Jehovah. I bless you in the name of Yahoshua.
