Perissos - John 10:10

Hi everyone! I hope you all doing good. I'm so excited to introduce you the new word and new blessings, "Perissos".  John 10:10 Says,

 " The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"

Jesus identifies his children as sheep in John chapter 10. In verse 10 he says I have that the sheep may have life and may have it abundantly. So the sheep were without life and without abundance. He is the life saviour. John 11:25 Says that He is the resurrection and the life. Satan comes to steal and kill and destroy. He comes to kill our life; but Jesus has come to give us life. He gave his life to bring us to life. The Greek word for life is Zoe. Jesus is our life, because of his life we are living today. Mankind lost their life because of sin. So Jesus came into the world to give his life. So the life we are living now is not ours, it’s the life of Jesus. Jesus overcome death so he had no death. The same life is in us , so we have no death. We are going to live with him forever.

Second, Jesus said in John 10:10 that the sheep may have it abundantly. Here the Greek word for abundantly is “Perissos” It has many meanings

1.    In the of beyond;

2.    Superabundant

3.    Superior

4.    Extra ordinary

Jesus did not come to kill you. He came to bless you abundantly. He came to bless us more than we thought, to multiply us in numbers, to make us worthy and as an extraordinary person.

Mark 6:51 narrates the story about the wind. Verses 45, 47 says that Jesus was alone on the shore after sending his disciples out to Bethsaida. He finds them grieving because the wind was so strong that he walks with them over the sea. The wind subsided as soon as he boarded the boat where they were. Verse 51 says that when they saw it, they were very amazed among themselves, and marvelled. In Greek Bible the term perissos used instead of amazed. Jesus went to help them just because he saw that they were sorry for the sting of the wind. Beloved, he sees your suffering and your tears. He will surely amaze you as well as how He changed their grief and made them wonder.
